SUSAN AND JOHN MORRILL
BURLINGTON, NC, USA
Pedigree indicates what the animal should be…conformation indicates what the animal appears to be…performance indicates what the animal actually is.......
"The Ridgeback represents a strong, muscular and active hound, symmetrical and balanced in outline... a handsome, upstanding and athletic dog, capable of great endurance...."
This is the dog we breed for in our program, and as such, requires good daily exercise (out of the back yard), socialization, and training (formal classes, as a puppy at least) from the time a puppy goes to its new home. Ridgebacks are not best suited to every dog owner.

This litter of 11 had 5 livernoses in March 2009. Our March 2012 had 6 livernoses out of 10. We do strive to keep liver in our lines.
We are members of RRCUS, our National Breed Club, and adhere to the Code of Ethics. Our dogs have passed OFA Hips (Good or Excellent), Elbows (Normal), MSU Full Thyroid, CERF, Cardiac, and DM DNA (Degenerative Myelopathy). We are very active in both the MAHA and CLCS coursing clubs as well. Susan is an active member of the RRCUS Ethics Committee, and the Endurance Trial Chair for the 2012 RRCUS National Specialty. Susan is also co-chairing the Endurance Trial for the Kansas National in 2013.
In 2007, Gemini was #ONE Brood Bitch RRCUS (two-way tie), AND she WON the Brood Bitch class at the National Specialty. Intrigue tied for 3rd place Breeder, and Susan was the #2 Owner Handler. We finished FIVE of Gemini's puppies that year, all owner-handled.
In 2008, Titan finished #4 in ASFA lure coursing, and Zuri finished #12 for the year. Titan WON Best of Breed at the ASFA International Invitational in Leesburg, Va. Zuri WON the Open stake at the same event. Both earned both their AKC and ASFA Field championships. Titan won TWO Best in Fields, and Zuri earned one as well. Titan was the #1 Region 7 ASFA Ridgeback.
In 2012, Calypso won 3rd Place in the Brood Bitch class at the RRCUS National Specialty. She followed her momma as our second generation to place based on the quality of puppies prodiuced. We also won the coveted Breeders Stake Award for combined high scores in lure coursing at this National. This was also the result of two of Calypso's puppies sired by our Titan.
We consistently produce sound representatives of the breed. We attend our National Specialties, and have placed in every show we have entered since 2005, in all venues including Rally obedience, Novice obedience, Lure coursing, Endurance and Conformation. We had our first Triathalon Qualifier in 2009. We only breed from AKC Championed stock, with the goal to produce champions for the next generation and wonderful pets for special homes.

One of the staples of our breeding program is ridgebacks true to type with plenty of reach and drive. Our foundation stock, Gemini and Apollo, provided us that. Dogs placed in the show ring are required to have fluid, unrestricted movement, it is otherwise a pet in our program.
